Ken Wright’s seascapes speak for themselves, outstanding moments in time that capture sunrise and sunset. With 40 years experience in creative industries, Ken is highly skilled in design, illustration and photography.
Start time on Friday Lunch time: 12.00 pm. Please meet Ken at the Distinction Rotorua Hotel Reception.
After a meet and greet Ken will give an overview of wide-angle lenses to capture the big scene and the use of Telephoto lenses to capture the inner landscape. This briefing is essential, so if you are going to be late, please let Ken know.
Please bring lunch for the first day.
Finish time on Sunday: We aim to be finished by 5 pm on Sunday, but some people choose to leave from 3 pm onwards, depending on their drive home.
Our exact schedule will be determined according to the whole group’s photographic objectives and the weather. We keep a flexible itinerary to accommodate this. We will spend the workshop instructing and shooting, often from before dawn until after dark.
Please note: There is a fair amount of walking in the parks, the tracks are rough and often have many steps. You will be carrying your gear for up to several hours, and you will be on the go most of the day
Self-drive Rotorua or Ken can offer a pick-up from Tauranga. Once on the workshop, all transport is included.
Maximum group size of 4 will be led by one tutor. Limiting class sizes ensures we provide you with the best learning environment possible, including expert guidance, instruction and personal attention, according to your learning style.
Ideally, you will have a basic knowledge of photography and be comfortable adjusting camera settings such as aperture and shutter speed. An aim of the workshop is to give you more confidence in the creative control of camera settings and shooting in manual mode, we will use a lot of “Live View” so make sure you have a second battery. We will have a brief session at the start of the workshop, covering camera settings and controls, to be sure everyone is up to speed.
If you are yet to master the basics, perhaps check out our Photo Schools in Auckland and Wellington.
