+ITINERARY

Friday: Pick ups from Queenstown Airport or Centrally located Hotel will start from 12.00 pm on the first day of the tour. We will travel to Glenorchy from Queenstown along the picturesque Lake Wakatipu and get settled into our accommodation, and present a slideshow of how to photograph the Lakeland landscape we will be visiting for the next two days. Tonight, we will head out to shoot the sunset over Lakeland vistas and then have dinner at a restaurant.

Saturday: An early start so we can head around to my favorite dawn spot at the Glenorchy Waterfront. After returning to Kinlock for breakfast we will have an image review session. Our midday shoot takes us to the Lake Sylvan Walkway. For sunset we will explore Paradise Valley.

Sunday: Sunrise shoot with our location dictated by the weather. After sunrise, we may have another image review session. During our return trip to Queenstown, we will stop at a couple of location opportunities with stunning views. We aim to be finished by mid-afternoon on Sunday allowing people time to travel home or meet late flights from Queenstown after 4 pm.

+PHYSICAL DIFFICULTY

A reasonable level of fitness is necessary to enjoy the workshop. There is a reasonable amount of up-hill walking required to and from our locations. If fitness or mobility is an issue please let us know.

+EXPERIENCE

Ideally, you will have a basic knowledge of photography and be comfortable adjusting camera settings such as aperture and shutter speed. An aim of the workshop is to give you more confidence in the creative control of camera settings and shooting in manual mode, we will use a lot of “Live View” so make sure you have a second battery. We will have a brief session at the start of the workshop, covering camera settings and controls, to be sure everyone is up to speed.

If you are yet to master the basics, perhaps check out our Photo Schools in Auckland and Wellington.

Camera Equipment: Our workshops focus on how to use your camera, not your type of camera. A basic list of recommended camera equipment can be found here
