Based at Ashburton Lakes in the Canterbury High Country, this landscape photography workshop is the ideal programme to improve your knowledge and skills as a landscape photographer. We’ll adventure out to a range of stunning landscapes from mountains, to rivers to high country panoramas during sunrise and sunset.
This workshop will help you improve your skills and knowledge as a landscape photographer. Glen Howey will lead you through a mixture of both tuition and post-processing sessions. Tutorials include composition, hyperfocal distance and achieving sharp photographs; designed to help you master the art of capturing awe-inspiring landscape photographs.
Glen has been a travel, documentary and landscape photographer for more than 30 years. As an educator at Massey University, The Photo School and through workshops, really enjoying helping others discover their affinity for photography.
The workshop is based at Mt Potts Station. We will pick the whole group up from Christchurch on the first morning of the workshop. On the last day, we will drop you back to Christchurch City/Airport to connect with late afternoon flights.
Start time on day 1: The whole group will be picked up from Christchurch at around 8 am, and we will drive to Mt Potts Station. If flying into Christchurch, you will need to fly in the day before the workshop.
Finish time on day 4: The workshop finishes at midday at Mt Potts Station and returns to Christchurch to connect with late afternoon flights after 4 pm.

Our workshops run with a maximum group size of 4 and 1 tutors, offering 1:4 ratio of tutors to guests. Limiting class sizes ensures we provide you with the best learning environment possible, including expert guidance, instruction, and personal attention according to your learning style.
A minimum level of physical activity is necessary to enjoy the workshop. Most locations we shoot on this workshop will require some walking of 15-30 minus one way along formed tracks carrying your gear.
Ideally, you will have a basic knowledge of photography and be comfortable adjusting camera settings such as aperture and shutter speed. The aim of our masterclass workshops is to cover more advanced creative camera control and help you to further develop your own style and vision. You will also receive free access to our Online Essential Landscape Photography Course to make sure you are camera-ready for the workshop.

A non-refundable deposit of NZD$400.00 is required to reserve your space for the workshop. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the start of the workshop. You may pay in full at the time of booking, the balance (minus the deposit) will remain fully refundable until 30 days before the workshop.
