Rob Brown

Wilderness Landscape Photographer

Biography

Rob Brown has been tramping and climbing throughout New Zealand for over 25 years. After working in the outdoor equipment and book publishing industries he became a full-time landscape photographer in 2001.

A co-author of Shelter from the Storm and Classic Tramping in New Zealand, Rob also authored Rakiura: The Wilderness of Stewart Island and New Zealand: The Essential Landscape.

When he’s not photographing the New Zealand landscape, he splits his time between leading photo tours in New Zealand and Iceland, locations work for documentary films and doing volunteer work to help look after old NZFS huts. Rob lives with his tolerant family in Wanaka.
