Wellington-based Shaun Barnett has been photographing New Zealand’s wild places for 25 years, and his work has featured in numerous publications including New Zealand Geographic, Wilderness, Action Asia, Geo Australasia and dozens of books.
Shaun is one of New Zealand’s most experienced trampers, and has also spent time in the mountains of South America, Australia, Canada, Nepal, the UK, Italy and the USA.
He has written several guidebooks, as well as Shelter from the Storm, the Story of New Zealand’s Backcountry Huts, and Tramping, A New Zealand History. He also edits the Federated Mountain Club’s Bulletin, and with photographer Richard Young, judges the annual FMC National Photo Competition.
