This carefully curated winter tour ventures deep into Japan’s northern frontier—where silence, simplicity, and atmosphere converge to create one of the most compelling photographic environments in the world.

Across eastern and northern Hokkaido, winter transforms the land into a study of restraint and elegance. Rolling hills dissolve beneath fresh snow, solitary trees stand etched against soft, diffused skies, and weathered farm buildings become quiet anchors within vast, minimalist scenes. Our journey begins in central Hokkaido, where we’ll photograph its iconic yet understated rural landscapes—graceful woodlands, sculptural trees, and the delicate textures that emerge only in winter. From here, we travel north to the remote coastal reaches near Wakkanai.
