Glen has worked as a travel, documentary, and landscape photographer for over 30 years. As an educator at Massey University, The Photo School, and through photography workshops, he’s passionate about helping others discover and develop their own connection to photography.
Start time on Friday: Pick ups from Queenstown Airport or Centrally located Hotel will start from 12.00 pm on the first day of the tour. Please bring lunch for the first day.
Finish time on Sunday: The workshop will finish in time to be in Queenstown by 3pm on the last day to connect with late flights. Please do not book onward flights before 4pm.
Our exact schedule will be determined according to the whole group’s photographic objectives and the weather. We keep a flexible itinerary to accommodate this. We will spend the workshop instructing and shooting, often from before dawn until after dark.
Maximum group size of 4 will be led by one tutor. Limiting class sizes ensures we provide you with the best learning environment possible, including expert guidance, instruction and personal attention, according to your learning style.
A minimum level of physical activity is necessary to enjoy the workshop. Most locations we shoot on this workshop will require some walking of 15-30 minus one way along formed tracks carrying your gear.
Ideally, you will have a basic knowledge of photography and be comfortable adjusting camera settings such as aperture and shutter speed. An aim of the workshop is to give you more confidence in the creative control of camera settings and shooting in manual mode, we will use a lot of “Live View” so make sure you have a second battery. We will have a brief session at the start of the workshop, covering camera settings and controls, to be sure everyone is up to speed.
If you are yet to master the basics, perhaps check out our Photo Schools in Auckland and Wellington.
Camera Equipment: Our workshops focus on how to use your camera, not your type of camera. A basic list of recommended camera equipment can be found here
Clothing: A list of recommended clothing to wear on the workshop can be found here
